The Blueprint
Participants in the 2004 Policy Conferences on Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention shared their hopes and ideas for coordinated, statewide prevention efforts. In doing so, they brainstormed and identified common priorities and strengthened network resources throughout California.
Those ideas shared became the foundation for The Blueprint ~ a Policy Platform for child abuse and neglect prevention in our state. In October 2005, The Blueprint was presented to a representative group of child abuse prevention and public policy experts. Their charge: prioritize the platform based upon their expertise, knowledge of the “pulse” of the legislature and feasibility/viability of the impact of each of the individual concepts.
At the 2005 Policy Conference held at the State Capitol in November, individuals from throughout California gathered to complete the work of creating a legislative framework on which to build our policy direction for the next several years. Utilizing this framework as our guideline, we will continue to develop a strong, effective policy platform to improve the lives of children in our state. Our goal: to inform and inspire our legislative representatives to work alongside of us to advocate for these positive changes.
